OPHELIA
Full CG shot, responsible for most of the shot.
Body and cloth models by Michael Assous.
Leaves, flowers and textures are from MegaScan.
Breakdown
Shot was made in Houdini, rendered with Redshift and comped in Nuke.
Fire Crown is a a Pyro sim.
Water was done with FliP with a white water sim.
Clothes were simmed in Vellum with velocities from water driving it's movement, but still allowing it to dip in under.
Flowers and debree are also a vellum sim driven by water velocities, but with a modified water surface to allow some part to dip in and some parts to stay above.
Inspiration
Ophelia was idea of my wonderful friend Michael Assous. It was inspired by a painting below and it is a take on the scene of Ophelia death in Hamlet, a more mysterious, other worldly version of it, which I got to push forward and develop in Dynamics 3 Class at Gnomon, taught by wonderful David Stripinis.
